Paceville is the nightlife hub of Malta, bustling with clubs, bars, restaurants and all type of leisure establishments making it the place to be for a good night out. All main clubs are situated close by to each other and entrance is free in all of them. Malta’s biggest cinema is also situated here opposite Bay street commercial centre, one of Malta’s biggest malls. Everything is within walking distance. This is the place for party people!
The beginning of summer in Malta brings with it the biggest open air concert on the islands. Held annually at the Floriana Granaries, just outside the Capital city Valletta, the Isle of Mtv is a free entrance concert that attracts around 50,000 people and is screened on MTV in several countries. The concert saw the performances of some of the biggest stars worldwide including Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias and David Guetta. It is usually held in June and the line up is usually announced around May. 2012 was the performances of superstars Nelly Furtado, Flo Rida and Will.I.Am. Check out the Isle of MTV Malta Special 2012 photos. International superstar Jessie J, Rita Ora and Rudimental have performed in 2013. Isle of MTV 2014 will be held on the 25th June 2014.
Go Sailing. The Maltese islands, surrounded by the clear blue Mediterranean Sea are a perfect place to sail. Book one of the many sailing trips around the island where you can also get the chance to participate in the sailing. Swim in the best beaches of the islands and snorkel in crystal clear waters! Let the adventure begin!
Summer in Malta brings with it several festivals amongst which the Wine & Beer festivals. The main two wine festivals are the Marsovin Wine Festival done in July at the Citadel in Victoria Gozo and at the Hastings gardens in Valletta while The Delicata Wine Festival is done in August at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta and in September in Nadur, Gozo. If you are more into beer, try the Farsons Beer Festival which is celebrated in July at the Ta’ Qali Park. Along with the diverse range of Cisk award-winning beers, international brands are also available at the festival. All festivals bring with them several entertainment including performances by some of the best local talents.
Malta and Gozo have some great venues in which big parties, both outdoor and indoor, are held on a regular basis. Some of the islands biggest clubs include Gianpula, Tattingers, Numero uno in Malta while in Gozo, La Grotta is the most popular club. Parties are held frequently in these venues so make sure to check out their website for more information during your visit to the islands! Two popular organisers are G7 events and Lovesexy Malta.
If you happen to be on Malta on the 12th December, don’t miss out the Bay Music Awards at the Bay Arena in the centre of Malta’s nightlife, Paceville. This festival celebrates local artists and is popular especially amongst a younger audience. Awards are given to different categories including Best song, Best solo artist and Best Band. Get ready for a great fun night out!
