City Life on the Maltese islands is nothing compared to the major European big cities as one may say the island is one big city in itself. The busier and more cosmopolitan cities can be found in Sliema and St.Julian’s which are bustling with life day and night. Valletta, the capital city of Malta, is very hectic during the day, being the commercial heart of the island. However, Valletta falls very quiet when day trippers and shoppers leave the city. The capital city is not known for its nightlife while restaurants and bars are few, though good.
On the other hand, Malta’s sister island Gozo is more known for its rural rather than urban life. Gozo’s capital city Victoria is quite small and not very hectic expect for some special activities organised or long weekends where Maltese cross over and make some noise in a usually very peaceful Gozo.
